A recap of the BCBBC visit to League Park to play the Cleveland Blues

The Independents traveled down south the land of Ohio, and played two matches at League Park hosted by the a fine base ball club, the Cleveland Blues. Cleveland is to be commended on their abilities as fine hosts, and ballists. HUZZAH Gents! The setting for the matches is……The place where Babe Ruth hit is 500th homerun. It was opened in 1891 and the pitcher for the Cleveland Spiders was Cy Youn. It was the scene of the only unassisted triple play in World Series History. It is also reportedly the spot where Joe Dimaggio’s 56 game hitting streak was stopped. There are countless others, and the ghosts of Shoeless Joe, Nap Lajoie, and Ty Cobb could be felt on the grounds. In short, it was a great day and a great place to play. Oh, and the Bay Citys lost both 7 innings matches. Game 1, 4-3 Game 2, 7-3
