• Ray Banister

Banker1
"The Banker"
1st Base
SEND FAN MAIL
"The Banker" plays as if there was money riding on each pitch. His hands have grown accustomed to swallowing up balls sent in from the fieldsman and killing many rallies. His swing is near as mighty as his money sense is keen. There are many trees that shake when the mighty Banker makes his swing! In 06 "The Banker" made the ultimate sacrifice by breaking his finger in the club's first match. He returned and quickly found his form. He was given the "MD" award for his valiant sacrifice.

• Fred Brissette

"Twinkle-Toes"
Pitcher
SEND FAN MAIL
Mr. Brissette is a hurler of fine degree and finesse. He has a habit of putting an awkward spin on the old onion that causes strikers fits. Even a fine striker like "Shoeless Jeff" has been quoted as saying, "I hate hitting against him". Apart from his ability to impart a spirited spin to the spheriod, "Twinkle-Toes" is known for his leadership and ability to relate to the cranks. He makes many a trip to the masses in the hopes of educating spectators about this great game of ball.

Twinkle-Toes made great strides in his striking, and was responsible for extending many fine rallies in the 06 season. For his great season he was awarded the "Comeback Player of the Year" for 06. Hurrah!

• Trevor David

Trevor
"Big Wood"
3rd base
SEND FAN MAIL
Mr. David is a ballist of the highest degree. His grit and determination to compete are topped only by his will to play the game the right way. With a keen eye, a quick bat, soft hands, and a cannon arm "Big Wood" is the ideal model of a nineteenth century ballist, but it is his sense for the game that truly makes him special. If you need a single to be stretched to the limit in order to tally an ace, then "Big Wood" is your man. He has baited many a fine fieldsman into making the errant throw that costs his club the match.

Trevor was awarded the Sandman Award for 05-06. This award was given to him for his grit and courageous play at 3rd sack. Hurrah!

• Dan Decuf

Dandecuf
"Rainmaker"
out fielder
SEND FAN MAIL
Rainmaker has gained his name by his constant desire to go to the long field, and frequently firing sky balls that could bring down the rain. Rainmaker always conducts himself with fine manners, and an even finer sense for the long field. He plays it well in the field and finds it often while striking. Rainmaker has again credited himself with one true home run this season, and hopes to add more to his club's column next season.

• Dennis Dinauer

Dinauer
"Double D"
2nd base
SEND FAN MAIL
"Double D" is a moniker that is very much appropriate for this fieldsman extraordinare. Mr. Dinauer guards the second sack with sure hands and great lateral quickness. No fieldsman shows as much ginger as "Double D" when he pivots to make a double killing in the field. His consistent striking at the plate makes him a true double threat as a ballist, and the best second sacker a club could hope for.

• Jeff Dinauer

JeffDinauer
"Shoeless"
short stop, 2nd base
SEND FAN MAIL
Keeping "Shoeless" off of the base paths is a tall order for any defense. His fine striking has helped extend many a rally for his club. He is especially adept at hitting in the clutch with two hands lost. The heart and effort of "Shoeless" can also not easily be measured. He has played with pain reminescent of the tales of an "Iron Man" of old. There is nothing that can hold back "Shoeless" when there is a game of ball to be played.

• Brian Freehling

Hooks
"Hooks"
Catcher
SEND FAN MAIL
"Hooks" has proven himself to be a striker that comes through in a tight scratch. His striking with two hands down has been excellent this season. Mr. Freehling's passion for the game can never again be questioned after the 05 season. He rushed himself back into playing form after a crushing injury, and played an integral part in several victories.

• Alan Garcia

Kid Garcia
"Kid"
Left Field
SEND FAN MAIL
Patrolling the long field is a difficult job for any ballist, but Kid Garcia makes it look too easy. With soft hands, and an eagle eye, Kid tracks down many a corker and bottles them in style. The Independents' pitchers can breathe easy when they see a howitzer hit to the left field and they know that Kid is back their playing. Kid's fieldsmanship is nearly matched by the power and accuracy of his bat. If there is a hole to be found in the opposition, Kid's bat always seems to find the mark. Kid further distinguished himself by being named the Bay City B. B. C.'s striker of the year for 06. Hurrah!

• Justin Garcia

docgarcia
"Doc"

"Little Train" was a fine contributor for the Bay Citys this past season, and made a most memorable catch to help save a match against the River Hogs. We expect to see more fine play from him in the future.

Mr. Koch was named as the Most Valuable Ballist for the club in 06, after completing his first season in vintage ball. His determination, and toughness on the field was matched only by his commitment to the club in maintaining the highest standard of gentlemanly play. He made every practice date, and nearly ever match, and all the while came up with fine plays wherever he was asked to go. Hurrah for Mr. Koch!

• Sean LeRoux

Tanner
"Tanner"
short stop
SEND FAN MAIL
"Tanner" is a ballist whose playing ability is matched only by his manners and gentlemanly play. That being said, he is player of the highest degree. He shows a great deal of ginger and vim on the bases and as a fieldsman, and no player shows more sand than he. He is the gentleman that all mothers would love to have as a son, and all of the fathers as their favorite ballist. Tanner was named the "Most Valuable Ballist" for the year 05, and followed it up with another fantastic season in '06 leading the club in runs.

• Jason McInerney

Jmac
"Buttons"
Out field
SEND FAN MAIL
Mr. McInerney is a young lad just home from the fields of battle. He finds catching the onion in the long field far more appealing than dodging cannonades from General Lee on the battle field. A gentleman of fine temperament and manners, and full of ginger on the ball field, the Union’s loss of Mr. McInerney is Bay City’s gain. Detractors point to McInerney’s occasional nips of Irish whiskey as a possible weakness to his playing abilities, while others say it seems to enhance his performance. I guess you can take the lad out of Ireland, but not the Ireland out of the lad.

• Ron O'Laughlin

rono
"Irish"
pitcher
SEND FAN MAIL
Irish is a gentleman and a ball player of true skill. His enthusiasm for the game is matched only by his work ethic away from the field, which he uses for the betterment of the club at all times.

• Branden Revette

rope
"The Rope"
3d base, catcher, outfielder
SEND FAN MAIL
"The Rope" is by far the most versatile ballist in the field. He repeatedly shows a generous amount of sand, and grit at any position he plays. His arm strength, for which he gained his moniker, is among the greatest of our fieldsmen. Whether he is throwing across the diamond from 3rd, home, or rifling in a howitzer from the long field, his aim is always true. Many a runner has found his hand lost due to the flaming shots from "The Rope".

• Scott Umphrey
