A pre World Tournament teaser and some numbers for the 2015 season

Bay City will venture to the World’s Tournament of 1867, held at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI, for it’s 10th time. This is an excellent event, and if you have the time I would highly recommend it. The village is beautiful, and the ball playing exceptional. Bay City will play it’s first match at 9:30 on Saturday morning, August 8th against the Norwood Highlanders from Ohio.

Bay City will enter the Tournament this year with a record of 12 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie. The boys in Red and Black have tallied 289 runs for the season, while relinquishing 125.

A successful group usually means some individual success as well, and we have some gentlemen who will be chasing some All-Time Bay City records heading into the weekend. Alan “Kid” Garcia currently sits at 70 hits, and he is chasing his own record of 72 for an entire season. He shouldn’t rest on his laurels however, as Tom “Cat” LeRoux is raring behind him with 65 hits of his own. Jeff Silverback Rahl is also hot on the chase trying to retake the record for extra-base hits for a season. Mr. Rahl set the mark with 26 in 2013, but Tom “Cat” LeRoux stole it from him with 27 in 2014. Currently Silverback sits at 22 entering the weekend.

Fun will most assuredly be had by all, and we anticipate a weekend filled with base ball, and brotherhood…in no particular order. Huzzah!! (That’s right I said, “Huzzah” and not “Hurrah.”)
